Gameweek 24 – News, GW23 Review & Competition Updates
📰 Gameweek 24 News
Gameweek 24 questions have been posted, and the deadline, as always, is kick off of the first game, which this week is
3:00pm on Saturday 31st January.
⚽ Gameweek 23 Review
GW23 was a proper shootout at the top. Three teams went 5/6 on the 50-point questions and ended up dead level on
250 points. That’s as tight as it gets, and it made for a brilliant finish.
Joint first were Ctrl Alt De Ligt, TK Predictions
and An A Corse Celtic 🤟🤤. Three almost perfect cards, three massive statements.
Just behind them, a whole pack hit 4/6 and landed on 200:
The Delgany Sharks, Allison Wonderland, Rathfarnham Rats,
2inarow, The Mighty Duck, Leave My Arselona,
Sevilla Euro King, Sky Blue Blues, SweeperVision,
H-N Ham Fighters and Dynamo Chicken Kiev.
When that many teams are hitting 200 in the same Gameweek, you know the baseline level is high and there’s nowhere to hide.
Down the table, the margins were still brutal. De Ligt My Balls and I Predict Deez Tings
were on 100, and Team Name Taken finished on 50.
The good news is there’s no time to sulk. We roll straight on, and one big week puts you right back into the mix.
🏆 Predicted It Cup & Super Sevens
Predicted It Cup: Qualification line is already messy
Two Gameweeks into Cup qualification and we’ve already got a proper squeeze at the cutoff.
Because so many teams are level on 301, there are currently 17 teams sitting in the qualifying spots.
That sounds like breathing room, but it’s the opposite. One good week from the chasing pack and the door swings shut fast.
First, shoutout to the early pace-setters:
Ctrl Alt De Ligt and TK Predictions are flying with
451 after two Gameweeks (201 + 250). That’s a brilliant start, but it’s not job-done.
There are three Gameweeks left in qualification and a single low score can drag you back into the scrap very quickly.
The drama is at the line. Right now the “safe zone” ends at 301 and there are four teams right on it:
De Ligt My Balls, Rathfarnham Rats, SweeperVision and
Blasters FC.
The next scores down are 300, and that’s where it gets spicy:
Sevilla Euro King and Arcticus are both on 300.
They’re effectively one correct answer away from being inside the qualifying group again.
After that, a few teams are going to need a real statement week in one of the next three:
I Predict Deez Tings are on 251, Bandwagonesque are on 250,
and Free Estate Kenmare are on 150.
The gap isn’t impossible, but it does mean you’re aiming for a proper 4/6 or 5/6 type week to claw it back.
Big picture: we’re only two rounds in, but the Cup is already doing what it’s meant to do.
Every 50-point question matters, and those “just ok” weeks don’t stay hidden for long.
Super Sevens: waiting on the 75-point swing
In Super Sevens, no 75-point questions have been determined yet, so the current picture looks identical to the Cup table.
That won’t last. Once the 75s start landing, this competition can flip in a single week, and the “steady 50-point teams” will be under serious pressure.
📈 Season Gauntlet Update
The top of the Season Gauntlet has stretched slightly, but it’s still a proper race because the gaps are all in the “one big week” range.
H-N Ham Fighters lead on 6,546.
They’re now 401 clear of Rathfarnham Rats in second on 6,145,
and 447 clear of The Delgany Sharks in third on 6,099.
That’s the first real bit of daylight we’ve seen in a while, but it’s not a cushion, it’s a lead that can be chipped away.
Fourth and fifth are where it gets razor-thin again.
Cunha Beleba!? are on 6,066 and
De Ligt My Balls are on 6,017.
That’s only 49 points between them, and it matters because both are close enough to third that one strong Gameweek pulls them right into the podium fight.
The next bracket is stacked too.
Arcticus are sixth on 5,969 and
Sevilla Euro King are seventh on 5,896.
Then An A Corse Celtic 🤟🤤 sit on 5,841, and
2inarow are on 5,764.
That’s a dense chunk of the table where one good run turns you from “chasing” into “right there”.
Looking at the top 10, the spread from first to tenth is 877 points (6,546 down to 5,669 for
Leave My Arselona).
That’s a lot, but it’s also exactly why the 75s and 200s are so important in this game.
If you hit a big-value run while a rival blanks, you don’t gain 50 or 100 points, you gain entire positions.
There are also some huge “quiet climbers” sitting just outside the top 10.
Dynamo Chicken Kiev are 11th on 5,594 and
Ctrl Alt De Ligt are 12th on 5,539.
If either of those teams string two strong Gameweeks together, they’ll be breathing down the neck of the top ten very quickly.
Elsewhere, there’s still a lot to play for across the board.
Sky Blue Blues are on 5,370,
The Mighty Duck on 5,346,
ManlyChestHair Utd on 5,288,
and Team Name Taken on 5,242.
The table is deep, and there are plenty of teams within one big scoring week of a major jump.
