Gameweek 8 served up a tidy, no-nonsense round where smart calls paid off. The big story was another 200 point preseason prediction being determined when Mbeumo scored in the first 10 minutes vs Liverpool. The other big news was Rathfarnham Rats and Maxie Pads both stitching together a perfect six-from-six on the 50-pointers to land 301 points apiece and take home Silver Shields. Two clinical cards, no fuss — exactly what you want at this stage of the season.
Just a step back, Cunha Beleba!? and H-N Ham Fighters kept standards high with 250, staying right in the conversation. The next pack settled on solid returns with 4 predictions correct, including Free Estate Kenmare, Leave My Arselona, FC 20 Benson&Hedges and Sky Blue Blues at 201, plus a useful 200 for Prediction Prophets, De Ligt My Balls, The Delgany Sharks, 2inarow and SweeperVision.
There were steady hands in the middle too — Arcticus on 151, followed by a run of 150s from I Predict Deez Tings, TK Predictions, Allison Wonderland, Moore-4-2, An A Corse Celtic 🤟🤤, ManlyChestHair Utd and Blasters FC. Two gameweeks left; it’s very much alive.
Season Gauntlet — Main Leaderboard
H-N Ham Fighters keep the lead on 2,279, but the gap isn’t comfortable with Cunha Beleba!? chasing on 2,151. The GW8 surge from Rathfarnham Rats moves them to 2,079, with An A Corse Celtic 🤟🤤 right there on 2,075. It’s a proper four-way scrap at the top.
There’s depth to the race too: Sky Blue Blues (1,929) and SweeperVision (1,905) are both well-placed to punish any slip from the leaders, while The Delgany Sharks, Dynamo Chicken Kiev and an improving Team Name Taken/Moore-4-2 give the top ten a very competitive feel.
On consistency of correct picks across the season, H-N Ham Fighters (31×50, 7×75, 1×200) lead the way, but Cunha Beleba!? (29×50, 4×75, 2×200) and Rathfarnham Rats (29×50, 3×75, 2×200) aren’t far behind. SweeperVision (28×50, 4×75, 1×200) are trending up, and there’s steady volume from An A Corse Celtic 🤟🤤, The Delgany Sharks, Moore-4-2 and Blasters FC. In short: the title race is wide open, and form is starting to matter.
